It’s international #ReadABookDay and I’m a fan of reading – always have been.
What book have you read recently that has made the BIGGEST impression on you? Can you recommend any books in particular for the rest of us to read.
I have been an avid reader my whole life. Do YOU enjoy reading? Do you prefer to consume your books as audio-books?
I use both audio-books and books that I read, and I also have a mixture of books in hardcover and electronically.
I’ve recently been listening to Michael Port’s “Book Yourself Solid: The Fastest, Easiest, and Most Reliable System for Getting More Clients Than You Can Handle Even if You Hate Marketing and Selling” on audio-book.
It’s so good, and packed with SO much valuable information that I’m probably on my 4th listen as I walk my dogs.
I’ve also got it as an eBook because there is something about actually reading the words that makes them stick – do you have a similar experience?
This book was first recommended to me about 10 years ago by a clever friend that I should have listened to at the time, but perhaps I wasn’t ready for the book then, at that stage of my professional journey.
Now, I’m LOVING it would certainly be a book that I would recommend without hesitation to any coach wanting to grow their business.
Michael Port focuses on the single factor that will build a successful service business of any kind, and that is the power of relationships. He re-frames selling into how you can be of service and how you are able to help your clients by solving a problem.
Now, this sounds more like consulting than coaching, but as coaches, isn’t it our job to help our clients find the solutions they already have to their problems that they are simply unable to access?
